- Friday 14 June 2019
Join Kabi Kabi artist Bianca Beetson at Caloundra Regional Gallery on June 21 for a special workshop to coincide with her current exhibition, Being Human.
The Being Human exhibition explores Beetson’s notions of identity through a series of photographic works created using smartphone technology. The exhibition is a culmination of seven years’ research exploring Aboriginal identity through the medium of self-portraiture.
In the workshop you will learn to weave a self or family portrait with images of place to create new portraits. Bring a friend and enjoy a social evening amongst the Being Human exhibition.
It’s a great opportunity to see the exhibition, learn a new art technique and get to know the artist behind the work during the 2019 International Year of Indigenous Languages.
Gallery Curator Hamish Sawyer will also host a casual conversation with Bianca.
Places are limited so make sure you book early to avoid missing out.
There will be complimentary light refreshments provided.
