The Holmes Art Prize is open to any Australian resident working within any two dimensional medium, depicting a realistic Australian birdlife scene. Up to forty finalists will be showcased in an exhibition at Caloundra Regional Gallery. Sculptures and non-realistic interpretations of bird life will not be admissible applications. To be considered for selection, a competitor must comply with all entry instructions and conditions.

Key dates

• Entries open on Tuesday 28 February.
• Entries close on Friday 30 June.
• Finalists announced: Saturday 15 July.
• Works to be delivered on Thursday 2 November or Friday 3 November to Caloundra Regional Gallery, between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm. Installation of works will take place on Monday 6 November and Tuesday 7 November.
• Winners announced: Wednesday 8 November  at the official exhibition opening.
• Exhibition dates: Wednesday 8 November – Sunday 3 December.
• People’s Choice Award announced: Sunday 3 December.
• Collection of unsold works may be collected or transported on Thursday 7 December and Friday 8 December, between the hours of 10.00 am and 4.00 pm from Caloundra Regional Gallery.
