Made by hand workshop
Experiment with many different techniques and processes and learn firsthand about the tools, techniques and materials for cold wax mixed media art. Under the guidance of Cheryl, participants will focus on materials, substrates, opacity and transparency of layers, texture and composition. This is a 'taster' workshop aimed at encouraging you to experiment and learn new skills rather than producing a finished artwork.
Cheryl McGannon brings 30 years of art making experience to her workshops, the last ten years dedicated predominantly to cold wax painting and encaustic painting. In her workshops she fosters an environment where participants are encouraged to find their own artistic expression. Cheryl works intuitively to create her personal visual language. She has been published in several publications, received many artistic awards and has work in both public and private collections. She appears in the book by Rebecca Crowell and jerry McLaughlin, ‘Cold Wax Medium: Techniques, concepts, conversations’. Cheryl teachers a wide range of classes and offers workshops throughout Australia.
