In its ninth year, Friends Regional Gallery Caloundra Inc., in conjunction with the Caloundra Regional Gallery, invites artists to submit works in competition for the Local Artists – Local Content Art Prize 2023.

Up to forty finalists will be included in an exhibition at the Caloundra Regional Gallery with several awards including Best in Show – which is acquired into the Sunshine Coast Art Collection, helping to build the Collection’s holdings of local art; 2D Excellence Award, 3D Excellence Award and the ever-popular People’s Choice Award.

Prizes

Entries in the Local Artists – Local Content 2023 Art Prize are eligible to be considered for:

Best in Show Acquisitive Award: $5000 prize – Sunshine Coast Council and Friends Regional Gallery Caloundra
2D Excellence Award: $2000 prize – Friends Regional Gallery Caloundra
3D Excellence Award: $2000 prize – Friends Regional Gallery Caloundra
People’s Choice Award: $500 prize – Geoff Lyons Solicitors

To be considered for selection, entrants must comply with all entry instructions and conditions.

Finalists announced 24 February 2023
Finalist works to be delivered on Wednesday 15, Thursday 16, and Friday 17 March 2023 to Caloundra Regional Gallery, between 10am and 4pm
Installation of works will take place between Wednesday 22 to Thursday 23 March 2023
Winners announced Thursday 23 March 2023 at the official exhibition opening, 6 – 8pm
Exhibition dates: Friday 24 March to Sunday 7 May 2023
People’s Choice Award announcement Saturday 6 May 2023, 12pm
Unsold works must be collected Tuesday 9 - Wednesday 10 May 2023, between the hours of 10am and 4pm from the Caloundra Regional Gallery
