Exploring natures patterns with acrylic with Dianne Smith
Join Maroochydore Artspace exhibiting artist Dianne Smith for a painting workshop at Caloundra Regional Gallery.
Participants will produce a painting using pattern as the subject to create an abstract or semi-abstract artwork from a selection of plants, flowers, shells, leaves etc. Focus will be on discovering organic pattern from a selection of objects to develop into a painting.

Beginners and intermediate levels welcome. BYO lunch, complimentary tea/coffee. Wear suitable art clothes or bring a protective apron. Limited numbers. Registration essential.
Gallery will supply:
Glue, scissors, pencils, rubber and A4 drawing paper.
- Selection of plants, bark, flowers, shells, leaves anything with a strong pattern including any pictures you like of patterns from the natural and urban environments. (The tutor will also bring some).
- A magnifying glass if you have one (some extras will be available)
- Acrylic paints (if you are a beginner red, blue, yellow, black and white will suffice)
- Medium size canvas no smaller than 50 x 60 cm
- Brushes of various sizes
