Caloundra Regional Gallery in collaboration with Sunshine Coast Libraries present the next exhibition for the Maroochydore Library Artspace.

BJ Murphy is a contemporary visual artist, curator and songman who is dedicated to the continuation of his Jinibara culture and takes inspiration from Country.

BJ says Healing Country begins with looking after the land and the animals.

"That comes first and foremost, our land, plants, animals and people are interconnected. This series of fine art sketches reflects the beauty of our animals. These sketches show Jinibara's signature skeletal "bone" design with a traditional style of cross hatching.

"Whilst utilising our Jinibara old style I have also incorporated my contemporary touch, rendering with dots for shading as well as shading in some places with pencil. My extreme attention to detail is important in my work as it reflects my passion for my art and desire to Heal Country."
