Caloundra Regional Gallery in collaboration with Sunshine Coast Libraries present the next exhibition for the Maroochydore Library Artspace.

James Stickland is a passionate Sunshine Coast-based portrait painter working in oils. Assessing the sitter and capturing a soul onto canvas inspires him to push each painting in a process of revelation until the result brings a likeness, but more importantly a trueness of one's self. James paints as it "makes him sing inside".

A finalist in the Perth Lester Prize 2021, Brisbane Portrait Prize 2021, Townsville Percival's Portrait Prize 2020, Brisbane Portrait Prize Salon de Refusés 2020, Qld Figurative Art Prize 2020, Leithbridge Small Scale Art Prize 2020, James’ works are held internationally and throughout Australia.
