The Enchanted Drive: Landscape in motion
Inspired by driving through the Glasshouse Mountains | 6 Feb to 24 Mar | Maroochydore Library
Caloundra Regional Gallery in collaboration with Sunshine Coast Libraries proudly presents the next exhibition for the Maroochydore Library Artspace.
Toni Rea series The Enchanted Drive: Landscape in motion are inspired by driving through the Glasshouse Mountains or the Daki as known by the Gubbi Gubbi people. This abstract painting series is a response to the disorientation caused by motion, strobe sunlight through the broken tree canopy, bleached out noon forms, inclines and falls of the landscape juxtaposed against horizons that appear and disappear.
Toni Rea has a Bachelor of Education degree and a Master of Philosophy through Creative Practice she completed in 2017 through Queensland University of Technology (QUT). For her research she was short listed for the QUT Dorothy Birt Prize. The artwork she cerates directly relates to her personal experiences.
