Our wildlife friendly community once again showed how much they love our Sunshine Coast baby turtles, coming together to tidy up their local beach as part of the 10th anniversary of the annual Clean Up For The Hatchlings event on Saturday, February 3.
From the young of age to the young of heart, almost 650 people, pulled on their gloves and worked together to remove 226 kilograms of rubbish and debris from beach locations between Noosa and Caloundra.
Afterwards, they headed back to Coopers Lookout Park, Buddina, to count the debris and enjoy a free barbeque, educational talks and kids activities corner.
On behalf of our event partners - Reef Check Australia, Unitywater, SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast Aquarium and Noosa Council - we would like to thank the volunteers for helping to give the little hatchlings the best start in life.
