About the curators

Dr Sue Davis is an independent curator, artist, writer and researcher. She is the initiator of the 'Wild/Flower Women' suite of projects and exhibitions. These projects have a focus on building awareness and understanding of Queensland’s native wildflowers, women’s contributions to protecting the environment, and the role of art and creativity for wellbeing and sustainable futures. The first exhibition was inspired by the life and work of Caloundra based artist/environmentalist Kathleen McArthur with over 10 exhibitions since featuring different groups of contemporary artists, exploring the wildflowers of local and regional areas, as well as the stories of women involved.

Visit the Wild/Flower Women website.

Dr Lisa Chandler is a curator, artist, writer and Adjunct Associate Professor in Art & Design at University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC). She was the founding director of the UniSC Gallery and has curated numerous exhibitions including co-curating: the award-winning East Coast Encounter and the current Wildflowering by Design touring exhibition. She is also a practicing artist, whose work is shown by Gallery Coolum and in 2025 was selected for the Sunshine Coast Local Contemporary Art Prize.
