To ensure the longevity, one of Sunshine Coasts Public Art Collections, Sisters by Choice will be undergoing significant maintenance and conservation during May/June 2023.

The piece was installed in 2008 as a result of a creative collaboration with local artists Elli Schlunke and Tony Read and Chinese Artist Min Yi Ming as part of the Sister City partnership

To complete the maintenance and conservation work, there will be disruption to the access on the pathway to the Nelson Park area adjacent to the island where the work is installed. This will enable contractors to facilitate the repairs and provide a safe work zone for contractors and the community.

Sitework dates

Between May and June 2023.

Access

Pathway access will be closed during periods when large vehicle access to the work is required.  We anticipate the works will be completed within a 2-week period, weather permitting.

We thank you for your patience and understanding during the site works.
