Latest & Greatest III exhibition launch

We just launched our first exhibition of 2025! Latest & Greatest III: Sunshine Coast Art Collection new acquisitions.
Thank you to everyone who came along. It was a great turnout of Councillors, donors, sponsors, artists, State Member for Caloundra Ms Kendall Morton, and of course our wonderful community supporters, all coming together to celebrate the Sunshine Coast Art Collection. We even had the new Sunshine Coast Council CEO, John Baker, in attendance. It was lovely to meet him and heartening that he showed his support of the arts so soon after taking on the role of CEO.
Lyndon Davis (Kabi Kabi) provided a moving Welcome to Country, opening the proceedings. Ferre de Deyne, Sunshine Coast National Art Prize founding partner and generous philanthropist, spoke about the significance of the art collection and the Sunshine Coast arts community, as did Cr David Law and Senior Collections Curator, Nina Shadforth.
Everyone enjoyed live music performed by local musician Lee Hardisty. The nibbles, provided by Penfolds Catering, were delicious as usual, as were the drinks from Moffat Beach Brewing Co.
Check out some photos of this memorable evening below, taken by Patrick Want of Volere Studio. We have many more exciting events coming up, including a curator's talk 19 February, and a photography workshop 28 February.
