Sunshine Coast Art Prize

The Sunshine Coast Art Prize is a dynamic visual arts award reflecting outstanding contemporary 2D arts practice in Australia. Now in its 17th year, this significant art award is the flagship event for the Sunshine Coast’s Regional Gallery in Caloundra, attracting entries from emerging and established artists across the nation.

The call for entries opens on 21 February 2022 and closes 10 May 2022, 5.00 pm AEST. The forty artworks selected as finalists will be exhibited at the Caloundra Regional Gallery from 26 August to 16 October 2022.

In 2022, we will have Ellie Buttrose, Curator, Contemporary Australian Art, QAGOMA, joining us as guest judge for the judged prize categories (Major Prize, Highly Commended and Artist Residency awards). The artwork awarded with the Major Prize will be acquired into the Sunshine Coast Art Collection. A People’s Choice prize is also decided by way of public vote by exhibition visitors.

The Sunshine Coast Art Prize 2021 is proudly supported by Sunshine Coast Council, Argon Law Sunshine Coast, De Deyne family, Caloundra Chamber of Commerce, Coastline BMW, Montville Country Cabins, International Art Services and Horizon Festival.
