About the Sunshine Coast Art Prize

Entries are now closed.

Open to Australian contemporary artists working in any 2D medium and in new media, the award offers a prize pool of more than $40,000.

The forty artworks selected as finalists will be exhibited at the Caloundra Regional Gallery from 18 August until 15 October 2023. 

The recipients of the Major prize, Highly Commended and Artist Residency will be determined by our guest judge. The major prizewinning artwork will be acquired into the Sunshine Coast Art Collection. Winners will be announced on 5 October 2023.

A People’s Choice prize will also be awarded, as voted by exhibition visitors.

  • Entries open: Monday 6 February 2023
  • Entries close: 11.59 Wednesday 17 May 2023 AEST
  • Finalists notified by Monday 5 June 2023
  • Exhibition: 18 August until 15 October 2023 
  • Winners announced: 5 October 2023
