The Regional Gallery of the Sunshine Coast presents a dynamic exhibition program featuring leading national and local artists, complemented by immersive public programs, educational programs, tours and events. The Gallery Store showcases artisans with a focus on local, handcrafted items and a curated Pop-Up Feature Artisan program. The Gallery is also home to the region’s diverse art collections.

Public galleries are important cultural hubs in our communities providing safe places for people to connect, as well as inspiring learning, debate, critical thinking and creative expression.

There are various areas of support where you can make a difference.

Make a tax deductible donation towards a new regional gallery

The Sunshine Coast is a step closer to having a much-needed new regional gallery after Sunshine Coast Council endorsed a detailed business case for a new Sunshine Coast Regional Gallery in Caloundra at the Ordinary Meeting on August 24. The new Regional Gallery is an important cultural facility for the whole Sunshine Coast region and a key component of the vision for the Caloundra Community and Creative Hub precinct.

The benefits of investment in the new gallery are considerable in terms of generating economic activity, increasing cultural awareness, improving sense of place and enhancing community development through increased livability and public amenity.

Sponsor exhibitions/public programs

Sponsorship with the Sunshine Coast’s Regional Gallery can provide opportunities to reach new audiences profiling your brand, product or service and connect with an active community across the arts and business sector. All sponsors receive marketing benefits and acknowledgements inline with their contribution and business objectives.

Examples of potential sponsorship opportunities are:

• Awards including local and national art prizes
• An artist or education skills workshop or program in a regional area
• A touring exhibition including a gallery curated First Nations exhibition

In-kind sponsorship is also welcome and we are seeking a beverage partner, print partner, workshop supplies and photographic and videographic partners.

Leave a legacy to the arts

Leaving a legacy is a meaningful and enduring way to share your love of art and enrich the lives of future generations of visitors. It’s a wonderful way to build civic pride and make a lasting impact on the fabric of our society. Public art galleries enrich our lives and that of our children.

You can support the Gallery by leaving a bequest, a direct donation or an artwork to the Collection. The Collection's holding of contemporary Australian art has benefited significantly from the Caloundra Regional Gallery's annual acquisitive Sunshine Coast Art Prize.

The subsequent donations made by awarded artists from this prize, along with generous donations by exhibiting artists at the gallery, families of artists, collectors and individuals are gratefully acknowledged as important ways of growing the collection.

Donations of works of art can be considered under the Australian Government's Cultural Gifts Program which offers tax incentives to encourage people to donate cultural items to public art galleries, museums, libraries and archives in Australia.

All offers of donated artworks will be assessed in accordance with the Sunshine Coast Council’s Art and Heritage Collections Policy guidelines.
