Pop-up artisan: Pieces of You Designs

Born and raised in the UK, with Welsh magic and folklore in her veins, Emily Davies found her expression through the arts. Emily received an MFA in Fashion Design from Savannah College of Art and Design in the USA. After falling in love and settling on the Sunshine Coast to raise her large family, she began her own creative business Pieces of You Designs in 2011.

What began as a market stall has evolved into various creative processes with a focus on doll and toy making, most notably her ‘Picture Pieces’, creating custom toys from children’s artwork.

The process is continually inspiring and it’s a real positive for me to know I am possibly empowering children to realise their own potential through the arts! Pieces of You Designs has produced work for hundreds of happy kids and several book illustrators, creating their characters for promotion of children’s books, and also created sports and school mascots for local and interstate schools around Australia.
