Artist Statement
Balance between art and motherhood can be difficult to attain.
This grouping of socks serves as a literal representation of the mundane and unrewarding but necessary obligations that stand in the way of my work.
Folding is my least favourite part of doing the washing.
Sock pairing is my least favourite part of the folding.
You need to turn them right side out, then pair them, and there are always leftovers.
I very much enjoyed the idea of drawing the washing instead of folding it as the ultimate act of avoidance.
