Artist Statement

I paint both the subtlety of the Australian landscape as well as its brutality. My intention is to portray captured moments in time, allowing the viewer to have an emotional connectedness with my work. Thin layers of paint, like the layering of time, build surfaces that give land and clouds form and meaning. It is a representation of meditation on landscape with my personal response.
