Artist Statement

Infinity pursues the notion that life is a circle; today’s event can be traced to something that happened in the past. In Buddhism this is known as Karma which evokes the spiritual principle of cause and effect, where intent and actions of an individual (cause) influence the future of that individual (effect). I was inspired by personal experience which enabled me to understand the spiritual value of love.  I've hand embroidered, in my own personal script, onto three layered sheets of dyed Hanji paper. Thread lines I use in my work continue the repetitive act and imply an infinite connection to the life cycle.

Sunshine Coast Council acknowledges the Sunshine Coast Country, home of the Kabi Kabi peoples and the Jinibara peoples, the Traditional Custodians, whose lands and waters we all now share.
We commit to working in partnership with the Traditional Custodians and the broader First Nations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) community to support self-determination through economic and community development.
