Jonathan Jones' The Andromeda Collection

In this interview, Jonathan discusses the evolution of his style—blending realism, restrained impressionism and influences from Oriental art—as well as the techniques behind his watercolour, oil and fine felt-pen works. He reflects on the beginnings of his artistic training in 1965 at the Royal Australian Naval College, his 38-year career with the Royal Australian Navy, and how his passion for art continued to grow throughout his life.

A long-time Caloundra resident, Jonathan has played a significant role in the region’s creative community, contributing through leadership roles in local arts organisations and co-founding the exclusive Passion on the Passage (POP) Group. His artworks can be seen across Caloundra and remain admired for their integrity, honesty and careful observation.
