Reflecting the diverse scenery and cultural stories of the natural landscape, this stunning range features artworks by First Nations artists Lyndon Davis, Sylvia Jones-Terare, Jason Murphy and BJ Murphy. The vibrant designs adorn practical items to be enjoyed in the great outdoors –including a reversable hat, carry bag and cushion. From the rolling green hills, bunya forests, waterways and wetlands, to the coastal waters and beaches, the Moreton Bay First Nations Collection celebrates the essence of the region.
The Moreton Bay First Nations Collection is presented by Creative Arts Alliance and Aboriginal Art Co with support from Moreton Bay Regional Council and the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland and the Regional Arts Services Network.
The Creative Arts Alliance works across South East Queensland North in partnership with six local councils – Gympie, Noosa, Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay, Somerset & Redlands. Working towards an innovative, connected and sustainable arts sector in regional Queensland and beyond that provides value for the community, businesses, government and creative professionals.
Established by creatives, curators and business owners, Aboriginal Art Co is a confluence of culture, art and commerce. With a gallery and store in Brisbane’s Cultural Centre Precinct, and delivery of a suit of programming to develop skills and support artists, Aboriginal Art Co is new dynamic urban art centre that connects consumers with authentic and ethical Aboriginal art.
