Jan Roebuck

Inspired by the Nerikomi process, Jan has gravitated towards jewellery and small wearable pieces

Practicing and living on the on the Sunshine Coast, Jan draws inspiration from her closeness to the Glasshouse Mountains and the many deserted beaches along the coastline. She started potting in the 1970’s, but after a long and winding career, has finally found the time to return to her joy in ceramic practice.

Jan stayed informed of the many changes and advancements taking place in the ceramic field. She now makes mainly mid-fire porcelain using stains and underglazes to colour unglazed polished pieces.

Recently, Jan has gravitated towards jewellery and make mostly small wearable pieces. Her current work is inspired and driven by the ever challenging Nerikomi process.
